Annotation. The article examines the phenomenon of identity glitch – an anthropological failure that occurs in the digital environment. Based on the analysis of classical and modern concepts of identity (E. Erikson, S. Turkle), the theory of unstable media and glitch art (M. Betancourt, M. A. Stepanov, E. V. Zhagun-Linnik), three scenarios of identity glitch are identified: collective (blocking of social networks), individual (mismatch of multiple roles) and existential (inconsistency with broadcast life patterns), social (cancel culture). It is argued that awareness of identity glitch is a necessary condition for the development of critical thinking and narrative competence, allowing to preserve the integrity of the individual in the digital age.

Keywords: identity glitch, digital identity, multiple identity, glitch art, theory of unstable media, critical thinking, narrative competence, downshifting
