Аннотация. Цель исследования – раскрыть философское значение обращения администрации США к названию «Министерство войны», рассмотреть воздействие слова «война» на политический курс государства и обозначить место военной риторики в деятельности американской власти. Показана роль языка как действенного средства политического воздействия, меняющего представления о силе, войне и государственной политике. На основе идей Т. Гоббса и К. Шмитта, а также анализа понятий «оборона» и «война» обоснован вывод: обращение к названию ведомства означает переход от образа государства, связанного с защитой, к образу государства, допускающего войну как приемлемый способ действия. Научная новизна исследования состоит в философском обосновании обращения к названию «Министерство войны» как речевого акта, меняющего государственный язык, политический курс и международный политический облик США. Сделан вывод: вопреки оценкам, сводящим смену названия к риторическому жесту или пропагандистскому приёму, возвращение слова «война» служит средством утверждения военной активности в качестве нормы государственной политики и рассчитано на внутреннее восприятие и внешнеполитический отклик.

Annotation. The purpose of the study is to reveal the philosophical significance of the US administration's reference to the name «Ministry of War», to consider the impact of the word «war» on the political course of the state and to identify the place of military rhetoric in the activities of the American government. The article shows the role of language as an effective means of political influence, changing ideas about power, war and public policy. Based on the ideas of T. Hobbes and K. Schmitt, as well as the analysis of the concepts of «defense» and «war», substantiates the conclusion: referring to the name of the department means a transition from the image of a state associated with protection to the image of a state that allows war as an acceptable mode of action. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the philosophical justification of the appeal to the name «Ministry of War» as a speech act that changes the official language, political course and international political image of the United States. The conclusion is drawn: contrary to estimates that reduce the name change to a rhetorical gesture or propaganda device, the return of the word «war» serves as a means of affirming military activity as a norm of state policy and is designed for internal perception and a foreign policy response.
